Prince Harry and Meghan Markle More on their fairy-tale wedding

More on their fairy-tale wedding

With the royal wedding coming up in May, we only have a few facts about the big day. Here is all we know about the fairy tale wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Meghan is one of the few divorcees married in this church:

There have been some previous marriages in the church that have included divorcees but this is a fairly recent occurrence. The Church of England quite recently included some changes that allow divorcees to marry in some of the most sacred sites like St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Through some changes in the policy regarding the church, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be able to marry and in fact the official that’s in charge of their wedding is very excited to marry them in the sanctuary.

St. George’s is the same church where Prince Harry was christened. A few modern royals today have been able to marry previously divorced partners but it is still somewhat of a rarity in the royal church and in the traditions of the royal family.

Bride is going to be delivering a speech:

The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be special as Meghan will deliver a speech.

Traditionally, the bride does not give a speech on her wedding and Meghan may actually be one of the first royal brides to actually do so. Generally the speech that is given on the wedding day is done by the bride’s parents. The groom may also give a speech as does the monarch at the time.

While it is likely that we will hear a speech from the queen, everyone is interested to hear what Meghan has to say. Meghan’s speech will be one of the first of its kind in a royal wedding. It’s expected that she will thank everyone for coming and for the ceremony itself.

Meghan is quite a gifted public speaker. Through her acting career she is known for her presence in public. She has also given many successful speaking engagements at the UN and throughout the world as part of her advocacy career. Her speeches on women’s rights and social causes worldwide have worked to make an impact worldwide as well as change minds. As she is quite a gifted speaker it will be interesting to see what her speech may be on her wedding day.

As well as going outside of tradition it may likely even fall as a memorable speech for a cause that Meghan is passionate about. She may also reveal some details on some of the charities that were supported as a result of the wedding gift donations.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle accepting donations over wedding gifts:

Instead of getting any type of traditional wedding gifts, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have instead asked for charitable donations. None of the charities that they have asked for donations at are directly linked to causes they have worked with in the past. The causes that they have outlined are ideas that are very close to their hearts. By asking for donations of money rather than presents they are working to start their own charitable fund and help with causes across the UK.

Some of the causes that they are most interested in helping with include the children’s HIV Association, The Myna Mahila Foundation, and Surfers against sewage, Street Games, Crisis support and more.

These causes could likely see quite a boost in the future and all as a result of the royal wedding. This is one of the first times that a royal wedding such as this has benefited so many causes directly.

Meghan had to be baptised before the event:

Bribe’s baptism will make the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a talk-about.

Meghan was actually raised in a Roman Catholic household. As part of royal traditions the future bride has to be properly baptized in the Church of England. This can mean undergoing a simple and private ceremony that can take place just a short time before the wedding.

Meghan has already undergone her baptism in just the same way that Kate had done before the royal wedding to William. This was really just a formality to get married in the church but the queen most definitely appreciate the gesture as well.

This was one tradition that was not broken but the entire ceremony was kept private with just a few attendees. With her baptism Meghan is now a member of the same faith as Prince Harry and the royal family and she has full rights to be married inside the Church of England.

In the past, it may not have been possible to be married in the Church of England without being previously baptized or a member of the faith. With the ability to convert and still be married the church accepts the option to marry Meghan and others into the royal family.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle inviting the public to their wedding:

The royal wedding will see over 2600 people invited into the castle during the ceremony. This is somewhat of a first for the royal family. A large processions throughout the streets of Windsor leading up to the castle is also expected.

Over 100,000 are expected to be in the crowd during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. There will be designated spots for these members of the crowd with a select few being invited inside.

These 2600 people coming inside the castle are generally veterans, designers, officials and a few lucky selected civilians. These are technically members of the public that were not directly invited inside the cathedral which can hold around 600 people at a time. Only a select number of celebrities, families and officials will actually be invited inside for the royal wedding.

Although St. George’s Chapel is quite a large building, it will be nowhere near the scale of William and Kate’s wedding which took place at Westminster Abbey. The capacity here was around 2000 people which would be roughly the size of the wedding including the members of the public outside and the people inside St George’s Cathedral.

The public invited to stay as the procession makes its way to the first of the two receptions after the wedding ceremony is completed.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding will be two receptions:

The first reception is happening at St. George’s Hall. After the couple’s wedding takes place at the chapel, the lunchtime reception will happen at St. George’s Hall which is still located within the castle grounds. The space in this area can hold a very large group as the room itself measures 9 m wide and 55.5 m long.

The original 600 guests from the St. George’s Chapel will likely all proceed directly to the first reception luncheon of the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. This is where it’s expected that the queen will give her speech. Meghan may also give her speech during the lunch reception directly after the wedding.

After spending time at St. George’s Hall for the formal lunch, the reception will then move on later on in the evening. Prince Charles has agreed to host an evening reception at Frogmore house. The house itself is just half a mile away from Windsor Castle making it a fairly close stop for anyone that that the first reception.

Frogmore house had extensive history in the royal family and it’s been owned for centuries as a vacation home and reception hall. Frogmore’s name comes from its close proximity to the marshland on the estate. Frogmore is also the area where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took their engagement photos.

It’s going to hold a reception for around 200 guests that will move from the lunch to these grounds. This is expected to be a much more private ceremony. It’s likely that the people invited to this section of the reception will be only those who are closest to the royal family. At this much more private affair there is likely to be more of a party atmosphere after the wedding and the formal events have concluded.

Inbal Dror to design Meghan’s dress:

It is rumored that the Israeli fashion designer Inbal Dror will be designing the bribe’s dress for the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Makle. This comes as a rumor of the submitted designs as requested by Buckingham palace. Currently there are only three sketches that have been circulating around for the potential look of her dress.

There are still some open that says to the designer that will produce Meghan Markle’s dress but Inbal Dror is the current front runner. It’s very likely that any of the designs will be fairly traditional and with a flair for dramatic.

Inbal Dror is based out of Tel Aviv and she’s known for her hand-woven style as well as the plunging neckline that can create a truly modern look for brides.

The procession route during the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle:

Any visitors to Windsor are strongly encouraged to gather along the long walk for the wedding. This is the final stretch along the procession route. As part of the wedding big screens will be installed and food stalls will be available for crowds.

Gathering along the procession route will give crowds at chance to take part in the action. The whole street will be decorated with ceremonial banners and live entertainment will happen throughout the town center.

Transit stations will be delivering extra train services to and from Windsor during the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The area is also opening up 6000 car parking spaces near the long walk. The route of the royal wedding is expected from Castle Hill and high street through Sheet Street and Albert Road. The long walk is a procession that takes place off of Albert Road all the way up to Windsor Castle.

Their security:

The security for both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on any type of public appearances often brought up to extensively high levels. The Thames Valley police are planning on ramping up security for the royal wedding as well.

The Thames Valley police operate throughout Windsor and Maidenhead and they are in charge of policing the royal wedding. The British transport police and the Metropolitan police will be supporting them. As crowds of up to 100,000 will show up for the day, there will likely be a need for this increased security.

Armed and unarmed officers as well as search dogs will be patrolling the streets for weeks leading up to the wedding. The police will also be stopping cars in the area on the day of the wedding. The British transport police will be patrolling train stations and buses on the day of.

The total cost of security for the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle or the number of officers available that day is not published at this time. With over 1000 members of the public invited into the palace grounds the security on hand at Windsor Castle will also increase.

Note that there were around 5000 officers deployed for the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in the year 2011. Although a crowd of the same size is not expected it likely that we could see roughly the same security and police presence for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Their wedding cake is Lemon and Elderflower flavored:

The original thought on the cake design is that it would be banana. Instead Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be serving a lemon and elderflower cake. The reason for the switch is that elderflower and lemons can bring out the brightest colors and flavors of spring. Meghan and Harry wanted a cake that could be iced with buttercream and then decorated with some of the freshest flowers.

The cake will be likely produced using the skills of Chef Ptak. This pastry chef is known throughout the UK for her bakery and for using only organic ingredients in all of her cakes. With plans for a fresh, seasonal and organic take it possible to have a beautiful look for the wedding that is filled with some distinct flavors too.

Meghan Markle’s flower arrangement will contain Peonies and Myrtle:

Peonies are Meghan Markle’s absolute favorite flower and they are commonly found on her Instagram account. The best part is that Peonies are also a flower that comes into season in May. This can ensure that Meghan can have some of the best quality flowers for her bouquet.

Every royal bouquet also must contain one sprig of myrtle. This is a tradition that dates all the way back to the year 1840. Myrtle was first used when Queen Victoria married Prince Albert and it symbolizes love and hope. It makes a fitting tradition to have it in a modern bride’s bouquet or any bridal bouquet.

Philippa Craddock has been slated to be the royal florist for this event and she’ll also be creating arrangements throughout St. George’s Chapel and St. George’s Hall.

The photographer:

The photographer at the event for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will likely be the exact same photographer that took their engagement wedding photography at Windsor Castle. Alexi Lubomirski has been selected as the wedding photographer as well.

As a fashion and celebrity photographer he has worked with magazines like GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, W and more.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a particular soft spot for Botswana. This is one of the first vacations that they took together. As a favorite place early in their relationship this is likely one of the places that they will return to.

Their honeymoon is a closely guarded secret and is likely that we won’t find out where they are going until they are captured by the media abroad. Apart from Botswana the Seychelles are considered as an option as well. This is an area where William and Kate spent some of their first days after marriage.

The Spice Girls are likely to be one of the front runners. One of their last performances took place in the year 2012 and they have been a favorite of Meghan Markle’s.

Musicians for the Ceremony:

Apart from the entertainers that could play the reception, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are having a number of modern musicians play their ceremony. The St. George’s Chapel choir will be conducted by James Vivian playing songs that are picked out by the royal couple.

The ceremony will also be accompanied by state trumpeters and a full orchestra. The musicians in this orchestra will be made up of select individuals from the English chamber Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC national Orchestra.

Modern soloists have also been selected for the ceremony including Karen Gibson of the kingdom choir. A 19-year-old cellist named Sheku Kanneh Mason will also be accompanying as a soloist for the wedding.

The young cellist said that she was absolutely bowled over when Meghan Markle contacted her.

The military will be involved:

Prince Harry has deep ties to the military and veterans and as a result, the British Armed Forces will be involved. There’s no word as to whether Prince Harry might wear a dress uniform but the members of the British Armed Forces will be in the wedding.

Representatives from units throughout the Windsor Castle guard, the Royal Marines and more will be attending throughout the ceremony. A band of the Irish guards will play music during the ceremony for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

As Prince Harry first served in Afghanistan in 2008, he has been dedicated to military veterans and shareable organizations with the military ever since. He returned to Afghanistan twice including a tour in 2012 as a helicopter pilot.

The invitations and guest list:

There are guest lists for the ceremony ended two receptions. Details on exactly who is attending still are not publicly known. For sure Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not see any political figures invited to their wedding.

Most of the people involved in the ceremony are close personal friends, celebrities and members of the family.

The main invitations that both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sent out were created by Barnard and Westwood. The company is a London printer and a book binder that has been regularly producing invitations for the royal family since the year 1980.

Their wedding bands will be made of welsh gold:

The royal wedding bands of the royal family have been using welsh gold for 80 years since the marriage of Elizabeth Lyon and George VI. The first royal ring was fashioned out of a gift from Clogau gold and there have been enough left over for the weddings of Princess Margaret and Princess Diana. The same gold company has been sourcing the best quality goal for royal rings with Kate Middleton’s band as well as for Meghan Markle’s future wedding band.

May 19th is a date of interesting significance to the royal family and for their wedding day:

It is generally considered to be bad luck in the royal family to get married on a Saturday. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle choosing this date is likely to be a bad luck day by many astrologists. Some are even suggesting that they could face seven years of bad luck just because of the date selection.

The wedding is also taking place on the same day as the FA cup final. This is generally an event that Prince Harry attends as the FA president. With this direct scheduling conflict it will be interesting to see who replaces him.
